Local Ramble
Clywdian Range
Moel Famau Country Park is in the heart of the Clwydian Range Area of Natural outstanding beauty. At the main entrance to the park is an ideal area for picnics, complete with children's play area and refreshments. There are many walks available from here, with fantastic views across to Snowdonia and Merseyside. The summit of Moel Famau is 554m, at the top lies the ruin of the Jubilee Tower, an iconic landmark of the area that can be seen in all directions.

Loggerheads Country park with it's beautiful wooded river valley, complete with dramatic cliffs and out crop it is a great place for a stroll or a starting point to begin exploring the Clwydian Range. Its also home to cafe Florence, which is open 7 days a week, or try We Three Loggerheads traditional country pub.

Snowdonia
Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and approximately an hours drive from the Old Mill. It can be explored by foot along one of the many marked paths which are suitable for range of abilities or you can even take a train to the summit (1085m). The scenery is fantastic, and on a clear day you're rewarded with magnificent views. When you reach the summit you can even have a rest in the visitor centre and cafe, the highest in Wales!

Flintshire-born and educated, in 2017 David, his wife Audrey and family have celebrated 50 years of trading at the Cherry Pie Inn Melin-y-Wern, next door to The Old Mill Holiday Cottages.

The Old Mill Holiday Cottages are conveniently located on the A541 between Mold and Denbigh in North Wales. The holiday cottages are 10mins from the A55 - westbound lies the beautiful Anglesey whilst eastbound links onto the M56 motorway.
